eQ Patient Portal

All about patients

In this project, I led the creation of a secure and user-friendly portal, enabling patients to access their medical information effortlessly. This project was conceived from the ground up, utilizing a technology stack that included React, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.

The vision: Patient-centric healthcare solutions

eQHealth Solution (now Kepro/Acentra Health), recognized the importance of putting patients at the center of their care. The vision was to create a patient portal that would serve as a centralized hub for individuals registered in the system, providing secure access to their critical medical information.

My responsibility: Crafting an improved patient experience

As the leader of this initiative, I took charge of the entire development process, ensuring that the patient portal would be a testament to user-centric design and robust functionality:

  • Development from scratch: The eQHealth Patient Portal was built from scratch, allowing for a tailored solution that precisely met the unique needs of patients and the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Utilizing React for front-end development: React, with its component-based architecture, was chosen for the front-end development. This decision guaranteed a modular and responsive user interface, providing patients with an intuitive and interactive experience.
  • ASP.NET for back end reliability: Leveraging the ASP.NET framework for the back end gave it robustness, security, and helped with the integration with eQHealth's existing infrastructure. It allowed for efficient data handling and management.
  • Integration with SQL Server: SQL Server was integrated to manage and organize patient data securely. This integration not only secured data integrity but also facilitated efficient retrieval of information, providing patients with real-time access to their medical records.
  • Secure messaging: Allowing the patients to send and receive messages from their care coordinators, request appointments, and provide feedback on the portal.

The impact: Patient communication and connectivity

The eQHealth Patient Portal became a powerful tool for the patients:

  • Secure access to medical information: Patients could securely log in to the portal, gaining immediate access to their medical records, test results, and relevant health information.
  • Simplified communication: The portal facilitated the communication between patients and healthcare providers, enhancing overall patient engagement and satisfaction.
